Starting 5 October 2025, an additional security step — Verification of Payee (VoP) — will be applied to all euro payments within the European Union.
This means that before you confirm a payment, the system will automatically compare the payee name you entered with the information held by the beneficiary’s bank for the relevant IBAN. If the check is available, the result will be shown before payment authorization.
VoP helps protect customers from fraud and reduces the risk of accidental errors, such as entering incorrect payment details.
